King Cobra, Monocled Cobra & Banded Krait Rescued & Released, Karbi foothills, Assam

A 13 foot King Cobra was rescued by Dulu Bora of Green Guard Nature Organization from near 17 No. Line residential quarters of Lungsung Tea Estate, Karbi foothills, near Chapanala, Nagaon (Assam), this evening. It was later released back to the wild in the presence of Forest Staff less than a mile from its place of rescue. This is the first rescue of a King Cobra with the snake tong generously donated to our organization by SarwanDeep Singh, who made sure that it was big enough to handle these magnificent reptiles. A Monocled Cobra was also rescued from a house and released back to the wild. During release, it regurgitated out a big frog, much to the surprise of the Green Guard Team, forest staff and public present. In yet another rescue of a venomous snake in the area during the month, Dulu was summoned to rescue a Banded Krait one night and it was also released back to its natural habitat.
