A continuation of the project 'Community Elephant Fodder Plantation' launched on July 7 (Bon Mahotsav week). This time villagers from Samasya Line, Bor Line and 15 No. Line, all villages in the Lungsung area near Chapanala, Nagaon, went around collecting stumps of the Bhim Kol, the giant banana species favoured by elephants. Green Guard Nature Organization was represented by Hemanta Sharma, Dulu Bora, Uttam Sangma & Amiyel G. Momin and saw the enthusiastic participation of women. These fringe forest areas are effected by elephant depredation throughout the year.
